Leo Lopez

Chief Executive Officer

Leo has over 27 years of experience, holding a number of Executive titles with a growing focus on capital markets. His experience includes roles of over 20 years in the finance industry with Goldman Sachs as Director of Australian Operations, JBWere as Head of Operations, R3d Global as CEO and ANZ Wealth as Head of Wholesale and Margin Lending.

In 2014 Leo established the sales team for OpenMarkets, Australia’s first Fintech StockBroker and successfully increased sales transactions to over $3b a month, making it Australia’s top 10 Stockbroker.

After an extended period assisting companies in achieving their growth objectives, Leo founded The Lopez Group and set out to establish an extensive network of participants and investors in Australia, Europe and Asia.

He has a passion for working with early stage and growth stage companies, providing them with business development assistance, mentoring, strategic advisory services, and assistance with capital raising. Having developed his experience having worked with a broad segment of companies ranging from start-ups to publicly listed companies.


Leo has been responsible for developing The Lopez Groups key strategic industry alliances and coordinating all aspects of the external administration and compliance processes, including specific insight into the structure and its application for the Australian and Global sector.

Drew Collins

Director and Chief Operating Officer

As a company Director and the COO, Drew is responsible for the global operations of the company, involving the coordination of the executive management and advisory team. He brings more than 15 years international business experience holding various sales management and delivery roles in large multinational corporations, as well as small to medium enterprises, opening a gateway for international and institutional investment into the business.

His experience and leadership have allowed for the development and implementation of technology-driven business services and solutions, providing outstanding client service, and driving profitable revenue growth, by providing access to pre-sale and early bird rounds on top level IPO & STOs. With an understanding of the blockchain ecosystem and ongoing experience with working on a number of projects in this emerging industry, Drew has a wealth of valuable knowledge. His passion lies in working with key stakeholders, within domestic and international organisations, to identify opportunities and solve problems. This sees him well-versed in understanding the needs and thinking of both investors and investee companies.

Drew is an outgoing, dynamic and client-focused professional who has a relentless drive to deliver more than just results. As a true hands-on leader, he is not afraid to jump in and assist and possesses an analytical and expedient approach to problem-solving which always results in a win/win resolution. Drew is constantly looking to introduce new products and services that will meet the needs of tomorrow’s tech-savvy global clients.

Matthew Cooper-Jones

Director and Head of UK

With offices based in London and contacts across Europe, Matthew leads our UK and European operations.

He has held a number of senior roles across Europe and has worked in a number of capacities with companies seeking to expand their businesses. Matthew brings significant skills in transactional experience, deal management and exit capability in deal flow in a variety of sectors, as well as international business growth governance.

Matthew has as a portfolio of companies and interests across Property, foreign markets, international business growth and fintech. He has assisted a number of these companies with export development, fundraising as well as trade sales.

Matthew is a member of a number of early-stage investment networks across Europe along with extensive and diverse relationships across Europe. These relationships enable The Lopez Group to capitalise on bespoke early stage investment opportunities.

Harry Tran

Strategic Advisor - Vietnam and South East Asia Relations

Founder of VA Trade Promotions, Harry is in charge of all business operations for Vietnam and South East Asia and forms an integral part of the cross border relationships and business opportunities across these regions and into Australia.
Harry has a large network of relationships across Vietnam from Government level to large enterprises.
Harry works strategically with our UK, Africa and Australia office coordinating all aspects of business opportunities, from investment, events and hosting senior delegations to Australia.

Harry holds a Bachelor of Banking, focusing on international business along with an MBA in International Management and Marketing. and held a number of senior positions in Hamburg Germany, Vietnam and Australia.

Tim Ward

Head of European Relations

Tim started his career as a lawyer in the UK now spends most of his time between the UK and Greece. Tim has been a pioneer and a leader in the insurance sector, digital transformation as well as creating game-changing vision and strategy, for over 20 years.

Tim held a number of senior positions as Head of Generali Worldwide, advisor to digital transformation, a major European banking group, Global Risk Director for a FTSE100 telco company, non-exec director of an Indian software solutions company, Chairman of a US life insurance company, CEO of several businesses in various sectors, including Cloud, enterprise software, financial services and professional services.

Tim has also worked in the film industry for many years, helping with finance, structuring alternative distribution and with the creative process as an executive producer.

Global Technology Specialist

Jose is an entrepreneur with a strong background in start-ups and technology-based businesses. His entrepreneurial journey started very early, having been mentored and collaborating with the first pioneers within the Blockchain industry. Jose foundered Bristol Academy, Eazylingo, Bitnesis and Blockspell.

As an early digital currency investor and entrepreneur, Jose has seen firsthand how this industry is shifting, the way we think about the financial system and the opportunities available to early-stage investors.

Mark Finch

Strategic Advisor - Australian and UK Operations

Mark has been in the Financial Services industry for the last 19 years spanning the UK and Australia.

Mark has worked across Funds management and Pension markets and currently is a Director of a large Pension administration company servicing over $5 billion in funds under administration.

Mark sits on various Investment committees as an independent consultant, which allows him to leverage his market knowledge and industry experience, in the decision-making process.
